Introduction
This manual contains a general overview of the Benefits module. Administrator manages benefits provided to employees, and employees can clearly request these benefits. Each benefit can be customized according to the company’s requirements. The benefits are then displayed to employees according to your own settings (if you use attendance in TULIP, for example, according to the types of employment). The module contains:
- administrator’s access to various types of benefits
- notifications – email messages that are automatically sent to related persons when a request is created, approved, or changed:
- Notification to approvers when an employee creates a request
- Confirmation to employee about approval of request by approver
- Rejection/Cancellation
- Summary notification received by Administrator at the end of the given period about all created requests
- reports – the list, status of applications, applicant, date of creation or approval of application, link to specific applications

Please note a TULIP setup you see always depends on custom requirements and access settings of TULIP for your company. Not all companies use the Benefits functionality.

Types of Benefits
There are 3 types of benefits in TULIP:
Text benefits
✔ Text as a description of benefit fully managed by Client´s HR administrator
❌ No requests are sent from employees to HR administrator
❌ No approval process / workflow
Benefit requests (without workflow)
✔ Employees submit benefit requests via TULIP – the request is sent directly to HR administrator for processing
❌ The request does not go through any approval process / workflow – the benefit that the employee chooses is not confirmed by anyone other than the HR administrator
Benefit requests (with workflow)
✔ The employee selects a benefit – this creates a request that is sent for approval.
✔ The application is sent in a predetermined procedure and steps (workflow): For example, it can be sent to a manager, then to a team leader, and then to an HR administrator for processing.
✔ It can be managed by client’s administrator, but also by an external administrator allowed to manage benefits for your company
